Rathcrohan Visitor Centre

Rathcroghan Visitor Centre is located in the medieval village of Tulsk, within the royal complex of Cruachan - the oldest and largest unexcavated Royal Complex in Europe. At Rathcroghan there is a wealth of mythology, archaeology, history and literature just waiting for your class to discover.

Staff are dedicated to helping visitors rediscover Ireland's ancient past in fun and interactive ways. Children can visit the resident peasant – ‘Goban’ and learn all about Ireland in the Medieval Ages. They are immersed in the ancient Irish tradition of oral storytelling and learn about Ireland’s oldest tale – ‘The Cattle Raid of Cooley’, in the very spot where it all began. More adventurous visitors can take a journey back in time, learning how medieval families prepared meals, or go on a quest to the ‘other world’ in the magical cave of Oweynagat.
