Book in-person visit

Whats in a Woodland?
Engaging and experiential workshops for students about their local woods. Visits are tailored to meet the requirements of the SESE Curriculum.

A field trip to a local wood or neighbouring wild park to discover its history and the biological functions of a uniquely diverse ecosystem. The class engages with fun facts relating to trees, plants and fungi that make up a rich symbiotic community - sharing to survive, much like us!

After collecting leaves and other natural treasures, the children create a book or collage, identifying species, incorporating Irish mythology and Gaeilge words relating to local place names and botanical identification. Interactive learning is reinforced with movement and song.

Shailagh is an arboriculturalist, chartered herbalist, childrens dance instructor and wild child herself! She consults with private and public sector on trees.
