We all depend on biodiversity and healthy ecosystems to provide us with food, drinking water and oxygen. I offer hands-on workshops to demonstrate what biodiversity is and to become aware of it in our surroundings.

My workshops identify the variety of plants growing locally and explain why life on earth depends on a variety of life.

My workshops also cater for creating mini habitats and ecosystems to support biodiversity. Examples include the creation of log piles, native hedgerows, community gardens, school gardens and native woodlands.

Interactive workshops demonstrate what biodiversity is and why it is so important. Simple explanations include examples of soils, plants, animals, pollinators, habitats and ecosystems. Demonstrations include games and quizzes. Outdoor exploration includes plant and animal identification, nature journaling and nature hunts.

Practical workshop options include creating a forest floor ecosystem by building log piles to provide mini habitats for a range of wildlife that are important in the food chain. Other opportunities include planting trees and shrubs to create orchards, native hedgerows, gardens and mini woodlands to create habitats on school grounds or community grounds.
