Book in-person visit

For over 30 years, Brenda has, with her husband, Niall, cultivated a sally garden and small woodland in their smallholding in Co. Leitrim. An annual abundance of coppice materials led to the setting-up of Fuinseog Woodland Crafts, to showcase the beauty and utility of small-dimension Irish trees, through woodcraft and willowcraft.

Brenda has over 20 years of experience in offering workshops and demonstrations in woodland crafts at heritage days, vintage fairs and street festivals, all over Ireland.

Brenda’s workshop will bring native trees and hedgerows to your classroom through living and craft exhibits, wooden games and seasonal crafts using natural and native materials.

The teachers and children will learn how to identify Ireland’s native trees and shrubs through the seasons; through buds, leaves, fruits, bark and wood.

Seasonal crafts using natural and native materials eg rushes (St. Bridget’s cross), willow and dogwood (rings for games, Christmas wreaths, dreamcatchers), hazel and birch (besoms).

Interactive wood and craft exhibits and games.
