Niamh Ní Dhúill offers a range of workshops based around creating Natural Wild Gardens. I offer guided nature walks to discover and connect with the nature and local history in and around your school grounds. This includes learning about and connecting with some of our most common plants and habitats.

All aspects of biodiversity and nature connection; gardening with nature, growing heritage food and saving seed; Pollinators and native wild plant species in the school grounds, how to attract, identify and protect.

Albert's virtual workshop will introduce students to the hidden lives of Ireland's bats and explore some of the myths and legends that shroud bats.

Albert has been engaging with staff and students around biodiversity for over 20 years. He is a qualified youth and community worker, organic/wildlife garden and bushcraft tutor. He combines all these skills to give schools a fun, creative and educational experience around discovering the natural world, in and around their school.

As an enthusiastic dinnseanchaí or local storyteller with Gormú the company I co-founded, I specialise in unveiling the rich layers of Irish placenames, folklore, and stories. I also love to use words from the Irish language to paint a vivid image of Ireland’s cultural landscape and history.

Weaving history, archaeology, science, nature and technology, Séamus and the pupils design an outdoor educational trail particular to the locality, incorporating many strands of the history, geography and science curricula.

Seosamh is a storyteller and tells tales for all ages through Irish and English. His stories include Irish folktales, stories in rhyme and song and stories from picture books for the younger classes.

Deirdre's programmes offer a choice of many different options from architectural and rural landscapes, flora & fauna, local history, local resources and traditional crafts. She is trained in genealogy, local history and folk tradition and lore, and has a programme which will allow children to explore the past pupils of their school and recreate their own record for future generations of their school.

Discover the Ancient Music and Instruments of Ireland. From the first settlers in Ireland to the arrival of St. Patrick and Christianity. Simon brings an impressive array of musical instruments to the school. He plays tunes on each one as he brings the children on a journey through the ages.

Through digital storytelling and outdoor learning, I help students connect with their heritage while fostering creativity and critical thinking. My goal is to inspire young learners to document and explore their communities’ unique stories, creating a legacy for future generations.

Lorraine offers engaging, hands-on workshops based on the SESE curriculum and Green Schools biodiversity themes. Lorraine’s workshops link science and nature, using exhibits to stimulate the children’s curiosity about the range of biodiversity in ponds, streams and river

With an in-person visit from Geraldine children will learn about the history of spinning, dyeing and weaving in Irish homes and how to weave a wristband or wall-hanging.

Vincent has been an organic farmer for over 25 years. He is passionate about the environment and is looking forward to sharing Cullahill Mountain and its environs with others.

Steffi is a qualified ecologist, environmental scientist and an accomplished craft worker. Her main areas of expertise are Irish rush- and straw craft, rope making, traditional woodwork and heritage gardening. Steffi works in three schools in Sligo, teaching arts/crafts and gardening.

Joan brings her horticultural qualifications, passion and expertise of ‘one score years' to a hands-on, practical approach to natural heritage & biodiversity education in schools through organic gardening practices, with a special focus on restoring the relationship and sense of connection for children with native plants & trees and other wildlife.

Come and explore the incredible marine biodiversity, maritime culture and heritage of Ireland’s waters with The Sea Collective! David and Cat are marine biologists and divers who use their enthusiasm and knowledge of all things ocean to bring the ocean to land and to life in the classroom and on shore visits!

Johnny teaches woodworking skills, studying trees, wood and their uses. He offers visits around textiles and spinning where children study and work with various fibers and materials . The pupils will learn to spin a thread and weave on a board loom.

Siobhán's 'Creative by Nature' workshops and field trips encourage a sense of wonder about the natural world; the web of life and our ancestors' traditional use of natural materials. Her workshops inspire curiosity and build a connection to natural environments through nature-based games and forest school activities.

Helena, a specialist in Irish culture, brings history to life through engaging talks, live demonstrations, and hands-on workshops. She invites students to step into the past by exploring traditional crafts, skills, and stories, helping them discover what everyday life was like for earlier generations.

Barbara facilitates nature based activities such as nature awareness games, nature crafts, bug hunts, schoolyard species identification workshops, scavenger hunts, and learning about historical use of natural materials - and many other Forest School inspired activities.

During Dave’s school visit, Irish archaeology is animated for the children as they experience an engaging demonstration on domestic and military life during a given historical period as chosen by the school. Approximately 100 artefacts are displayed in the classroom turning the school into a veritable museum for the day!

Kay is a qualified horticulturalist with a passion for organic food growing, wildlife gardening and environmental education. Her visits include practical, hands-on activities in the school garden.
