Carol has been running forest school sessions for all ages since 2015 through Down to Earth Forest School and also works on the education team in Brigit’s Garden, running environmental education workshops for schools  for the last seven years. She is a qualified forest school practitioner, special needs assistant, approved therapeutic forest practitioner, leave no trace guide and forest bathing guide. Carol is happiest in nature and her workshops bring together all her passions into one creative mix. She is passionate about traditional crafting with natural materials, foraging, singing and telling stories from Irish folklore and mythology that are related to the natural world.

Carol loves seeing the long term effects of spending time in nature and sharing curiosity, creativity and wonderment of the natural environment. Forest school can help children learn what their interests are,  grow confidence and enhance social skills though child-led play.  She introduces  tool use in each session, which helps build gross and fine motor skills, as well as confidence to make a new natural craft related to the passing seasons, thus encouraging place-based learning and nature connection.
