Mary’s workshops involve hands-on active exercises, allowing the children to engage in outdoor learning on the school grounds and local neighbourhood.

Encourage children to explore their natural curiosity and wonder by observing nature in and around the school grounds. Involve them in hands-on activities that allow them to learn about local flora and fauna and help them understand the role of different elements of nature in the web of life. Promote the sharing of knowledge and inspiration among the children to enhance their appreciation of the local natural world.

Discover how to read a compass and engage in mapping activities in the schoolyard. Children will develop awareness of local built heritage by exploring historical and contemporary maps. Hands-on activities will help the children to understand compass directions and orient themselves in relation to their surroundings, connecting their school environment to the history of the area.
