Learn why butterflies pretend to be dead, who their enemies are and how long they live.

Engaging and experiential workshops for students about their local woods and the nature under their feet. The heart of nature connection is multifaceted and instilled with story, movement, song, play and Irish and English ID. Visits are tailored to meet the requirements of the SESE Curriculum.

Ciara's passion is to develop our connection to nature. The Forest School ethos that underpins her work is that of child-led play and personal development so learning happens holistically for each child. Activities offered include games, bug safari, nature crafts, using tools like saws and drills and some wild edible foraging, all in the school grounds.

Geoff's visits include the following strands: biodiversity, art, maths, geography, English, Irish, music. His lessons begin with engagement, prediction, exploration and show the results.

Patrick's nature visits cover everything from school Gardening to exploring the trees, wildflowers, birdlife and insects found locally. He helps children and teachers explore the biodiversity on their doorstep.

Dee is a forest school leader and primary school teacher with a keen interest in outdoor activity and nature based learning. Forest school workshops include games, nature art, bush crafts, den building, play and exploration all while connecting with each other and nature throughout the seasons.

From whales to snails and everything in between, Calvin’s visits on Irish wildlife and biodiversity tap into and encourage the innate curiosity all young children have for the world around them.

CuriOcean’s workshops are science based and most importantly, fun! Children will learn and understand how they can help protect the marine environment through hands-on and interactive activities. 'Pollination - How nature makes our fruits and seeds': Introduction to pollination, making the connection between insects and food production through interactive discussions, guided outdoor activities, hands-on flower dissection and creative drawing.

We cover pollination, biodiversity, native tree identification, fresh water animals and seaweeds. We include worksheets, quizzes, hands on outdoor activities and creativity in our workshops.

A fun and interactive way of uncovering the natural world around us and the prehistoric history of Ireland through discovery, fun games, and creative activities. Find out all about the ancient sea creatures that lived long ago and the different creatures that inhabit our seashore today. Learn from local rocks, fossils, and landforms, about Ireland’s ancient past, its earthquakes and volcanoes, and vast mysterious lands where dinosaurs once roamed. We’ll leave no stone unturned!

As a librarian and author of nine books Carmel is passionate about restoring lesser-known people and events to their rightful place in Irish History. Her workshops include engaging story time in both languages based on her four picture books for younger children and illustrated talks with worksheets to complement the Irish History sessions.

Tony's visits are aimed at getting children into the outdoors to discover the natural world surrounding their school and locality. Visits are fun, interactive and suitable for all classes and age groups.

Aengus explores biodiversity, what it is, why we should care and how we can help in a range of different workshops.

Martina offers a wide range of nature activities and experiences, preferably outdoors, either on the school grounds or in a nearby habitat, like a forest, hedgerow or bogland. She gained her experience in offering popular summer nature camps for primary school children in South Sligo.

Angie is a passionate and highly experienced ‘forest school leader’ who firmly believes in nature pedagogy. Angie feels that connecting with nature and encouraging student led learning in the outdoors is of great importance in this increasingly digital age.

Cork Jewish history, music, and culture - a participatory music and dance workshop introducing a little-known community, from their origins in Lithuania to today. This workshop also looks at the cultural heritage of the children in the classroom - festivals, music, foods, songs, dances and traditions, and includes song writing in different languages.

Aileen delivers workshops in traditional Irish singing. During her visits, children are introduced to a broad range of traditional Irish songs - love songs, local songs, songs of war and songs of complete nonsense!

Eliya enthusiastically shares her passion for nature connection with the groups she engages with. Guided by the forest school approach, organic gardening, and ecological climate awareness, Eliya’s sessions are infused with play, creativity, movement, and song - highlighting experiential learning through the hands, head and heart.
