Carol is passionate about our natural world where ‘nature is the teacher'. Being outside helps us to connect with nature and the passing seasons, where we can engage with our cultural heritage through natural crafts, song, stories and folklore, games and place-based learning. Carol offers forest school programmes, nature walks and traditional craft sessions.

Áine is passionate about opening children's horizons to what's in their locality, what mysterious monuments stand hidden behind the ditches and those ivy clad walls.

Explore the Burren and learn about how to investigate place through fun activities and games on our Burren Wild Child field trips.

Sonia’s workshops will focus on the natural world and our heritage crafts and the connection between them. All workshops will involve hands-on and creative activities.

Get hands-on with history and explore archaeology! Frankie’s workshops bring the past to life – investigating the lives of ‘Children in the Past’ through artefact handling, living history and ancient craft activities. Frankie specialises in child-centered, inclusive learning and her workshops support the key strands of the SESE Curriculum from Early Peoples (Stone Age) through to Viking, Norman and Medieval units, as well as the STEM Curriculum.

Bernie introduces students to archaeological and built heritage sites through presentations, site visits and hands on reconstructions and recording.

Paul will introduce children to locally sourced natural materials. Using them to weave, build and make their own, individual or group art and craft projects, focusing on location and its biodiversity.

Donna offers interactive and engaging school visits that are designed to encourage children to fully explore and enjoy their archaeological and historical past. Visits promote an inclusive, hands-on, and absorbed learning experience which incorporates discussions, crafts, and activities to share the inspiring wonders of the past with children of all ages.

Nature and history field trips to Emo Court (https://emocourt.ie/) in Co. Laois. Also available are in-school pollinator workshops.

CuriOcean whale and dolphin workshops allow children to understand and protect the marine environment through hands-on and fun activities! They will join an interactive introduction to marine mammals, play detectives through a photo-identification game and get a deeper understanding on how dolphins and whales communicate.

'Pollination - How nature makes our fruits and seeds': Introduction to pollination, making the connection between insects and food production through interactive discussions, guided outdoor activities, hands-on flower dissection and creative drawing.

We cover pollination, biodiversity, native tree identification, fresh water animals and seaweeds. We include worksheets, quizzes, hands on outdoor activities and creativity in our workshops.

Tony's visits are aimed at getting children into the outdoors to discover the natural world surrounding their school and locality. Visits are fun, interactive and suitable for all classes and age groups.

Exploring heritage through music and sound

By investigating the materials, technology and influences of everyday architecture, artist Alison Mac Cormaic explores the built heritage in your village, town, city or school. Workshop are coordinated from a range of research, drawing, design and construction activities to match the style and features of your local buildings.

Carmel is an artist, natural researcher and author of two natural history books on flora and marine biodiversity. She provides outdoor exploring visits to the local seashore, marine presentations and associated hands on learning activities.

During school visits children are introduced to the people and objects of the past through a visual presentation, a handling box of replica artefacts, simulated sandbox excavations and lively discussion.

Ruth is a storyteller and author with a particular interest in folklore, traditional crafts and healing plants. Her visits include talks, storytelling sessions, hands-on craft activities using natural materials.

During a virtual visit David and Sinead explain the concept of pollination and how this leads to the formation of seeds and fruits.

David's classroom activities include engaging sessions on the tides, identifying marine organisms and talks about living marine animals which David brings into the classroom!

The story of pollinators, seeds and food: Children will be introduced to common wild pollinator species, why native wild flowers are important for their survival and why and how do plants produce seed and food.

All aspects of biodiversity and nature connection; gardening with nature, growing heritage food and saving seed; Pollinators and native wild plant species in the school grounds, how to attract, identify and protect.

Albert's virtual workshop will introduce students to the hidden lives of Ireland's bats and explore some of the myths and legends that shroud bats.

Albert has been engaging with staff and students around biodiversity for over 20 years. He is a qualified youth and community worker, organic/wildlife garden and bushcraft tutor. He combines all these skills to give schools a fun, creative and educational experience around discovering the natural world, in and around their school.

Weaving history, archaeology, science, nature and technology, Séamus and the pupils design an outdoor educational trail particular to the locality, incorporating many strands of the history, geography and science curricula.

Discover the Ancient Music and Instruments of Ireland. From the first settlers in Ireland to the arrival of St. Patrick and Christianity. Simon brings an impressive array of musical instruments to the school. He plays tunes on each one as he brings the children on a journey through the ages.
