My visits will cover many aspects of the natural world, our environment, biodiversity and biology as well as geography and history and how they are all interconnected. The story of how we humans interact with our environment and how it affects us and we it.

Tom is an avid bird watcher and photographer and loves to communicate his passion to the children through field trips and arts and crafts.

Martin's workshops explore local and family history in a way which engages students, family and community in finding more about the stories, events and people who shaped their area and themselves.

Super Furry Animals is an interactive workshop where children explore the special characteristics of the wild mammal species found in Ireland.

Nessa introduces children to the fascinating biology and ecology of invertebrates.

Aidan has devoted a huge part of the last 50 years putting together one of the country's best collections of Irish stamps, coins, postcards,artefacts and commerorative booklets.

Andrew Doherty was previously a commercial fisherman who now researches and writes about the maritime and fishing history of SE Ireland. He provides walks and talks with a variety of props to assist in engaging students and bringing the sea and its mysteries into the classroom.

Bernie introduces students to archaeological and built heritage sites through presentations, site visits and hands on reconstructions and recording.

Learn all about the wet and wild peatlands of Ireland! Workshops involve hands-on activities to explore Irish bogs, from how they form to the plants and animals that live on them.

Fiona is a teacher and adult educator with extensive experience of working in schools. She works as a nature volunteer with a number of projects including Abbeyleix Bog. Through this work she has developed expertise on peatlands, in particular on the raised bog, varied habitats and biodiversity value of bogs.

Richard is a working blacksmith who teaches and demonstrates the work of the blacksmiths craft, very little has changed since the Iron Age. Reconnect to the places and history of this living craft with a visit from Richard.

Jessica uses the medium of LEGO bricks to convey an appreciation for our heritage in a fun and dynamic way. A strong believer in the concept of learning through play, Jessica encourages children towards self-initiated discovery of their local environment through hands-on building, open discussion and creative expression.

Paul will introduce children to locally sourced natural materials. Using them to weave, build and make their own, individual or group art and craft projects, focusing on location and its biodiversity.

Ann Marie has worked as an educator in primary schools for 25 years and is passionate about Ireland’s built and natural heritage.

Lucy provides interactive workshops on milling that get students excited about their food, history and natural environment.

Sheila is intrigued by Ireland’s past and her workshops will transport students on a magic carpet to ancient Ireland through the lens of story. She creates a holistic learning experience fostering a deep appreciation of heritage, culture, nature and sense of place.

Anthony Galvin is a storyteller and author who brings history alive in a unique way. Whether it’s rebels on the run, pirate queens, or polar explorers, his funny, dramatic and hands-on approach is sure to engage. Performed in costume with props the children can handle.

Through interactive storytelling and a selection of hands-on activities Ann Gerety Smyth (one half of Creative Ardagh) can bring a range of topics to life. Learning from our mythology, local history and natural heritage the Scéalta Beo (Living Stories) sessions put an emphasis on restoring the balance: building a sense of place, connection to the outdoors and protecting our biodiversity for future generations.

Helena’s interactive workshops are based on natural crafts, using the fibres and plants that surround us to weave baskets and create fun and functional handmade items.

Úna offers two options: 1) Seed Stories: Exploring autumn trees and seed dispersal 2) Rocks Around Us: Introduction to rocks, minerals and fossils.

Clare is passionate about reconnecting children with nature and empowering them with the knowledge and tools to tackle climate anxiety through positive actions! Discover the REAL zoo of wonderful creatures living all around us – in our flowers, trees and streams and how they depend on each other!

Contact Jesmond for a glimpse into the magical world of butterflies and moths, including the weirdly wild ways butterflies communicate with each other, why butterflies bully and some social caterpillars eat their own kind.
