Michael is an enviornmentalist, wildlife enthusiast and local historian, with an interest in all aspects of the Irish landscape.

He specialises in taking classes on field trips to woodlands, waterways, bogs, around the school garden and along hedgerows.

On these trips children will get a hands-on experience of the various habitats. They will have an opportunity to have a close look at all the living things that are found, discuss their life cycle and the part they play in the course of growth and decomposition throughout the year.

Classroom presentations are also given.

He will arrange trips to heritage sites and historical monuments.

The content of the visit will be discussed in advance with the class teacher.
