I am a children's author from County Mayo with a BA Honours Degree in Journalism and a passion to help children explore the stories within. My workshops aim to give children the tools to explore the stories they have and show them that there is so much to discover through heritage, culture and nature. Working alongside the history program thought in schools I will integrate learning and fun through games, written work and team work. My workshops include storyboard creation, storytelling, character building and development, how a book comes together from pen to print, readings from my Little Red Head collection and lots of fun games to spark the creativity of the children. The aim of the workshops is to give children the tools to develop their own stories while exploring our rich history. I also touch on the mental health aspect of writing; whereby if a child has a problem simply writing it out or drawing it can help deal with the problem. Through my books I have being lucky enough to present workshops in centres, schools and at festivals.

To date I have three books written;

Little Red Head – Céide Fields

Little Red Head – The Great Western Greenway

Little Red Head – Belleek Woods

I want each child to go away feeling that they have a tool to explore their stories because our heritage and culture is built on stories.
