Eoin aims to bring the subjects of history and geography to life for school children. This is achieved through discussions about the past, using props and artefacts. Some of the creative classroom sessions include artefact handling and production, allowing children make their own artefacts. Eoin uses the school buildings and maps to show how buildings have changed along with the people in them. Through his work with the School Folklore Collection he will show how the children can match stories of the 1930’s to learn about parts of their landscape, be it a field in a farm, a monument or a spot of buried treasure. Eoin is available to design school projects with children that tell the story of what they believe makes their place special.

Having taught in University to adult and post graduate learners, Eoin directed archaeological projects in Ireland for twenty years. For seven of the twenty years he has coordinated training courses for the professional body for archaeologists in Ireland. Eoin holds a Doctorate in Archaeology and runs a private Archaeological and Heritage Consultancy (Gort Archaeology) based in Laois.
