Chris Barrett is an experienced outdoor instructor, storyteller and wildlife photographer. Having faced some of the most incredible creatures on the planet, Chris uses these encounters to create hands-on learning opportunities for students on biodiversity and folklore.

Chris uses aerial imagery, combined with historical and archeological maps to give students a different perspective on their landscape. This is a practical, hands-on workshop of rich depth, which is tailored to suit all learning styles.

Chris uses the area of “Biomimicry” to teach students about the importance of using nature as inspiration in design. He is a qualified product designer (BSc) and has utilised natural structures and processes in his work for some time.

Through an interactive and hands-on workshop, Chris provides the opportunity for students to solve problems by looking at the natural world. This causes students to form a strong focus on the area around them while focusing on a solution-based attitud

Chris uses an extensive collection of personally created imagery, along with natural materials to create a workshop on the importance of hedgerows. He also uses the local culture and folklore, along with placenames of the area to build the entire story.
