Trevor brings Celtic, Viking and Medieval history to life through a fun and interactive display including swords, spears, axes and armour, including information on crafts and daily life with a few myths and legends thrown in too! This workshop is designed to give students a greater awareness of the heritage and history around them.

Trevor has been a living-historian for the last 10 years, and has travelled extensively around Ireland, UK and Europe to learn more about the varied cultures that contributed to Irish history. Trevor has also worked on documentaries and historical dramas for The History Channel, BBC, RTE, TG4 and TV3.

  • "The children really enjoyed the presentation. The teachers were very positive in their individual evaluation."
  • "Trevor was so engaging. His in-depth knowledge of the culture of the Vikings was astounding and the children were enthralled. It really added to our delivery of the curriculum. The artefacts and replicas of Viking clothes, tools, weapons, armour and jewellery which the children were allowed to handle really complemented the experience. I would highly recommend Trevor McCarthy. Parents also contacted me with really positive feedback from the children as they went home to tell them all they had learned that day."
