Tony brings Irelands ancient past to life with audio visual displays, the use of replica historical tools and weapons and his workshops include visits to both sites of international importance and hidden local gems. Tony has a particular interest in the Middle Ages; early Christianity, the Vikings, the Normans, and medieval Gaelic culture. Tony also has a background in Folklore and mythology, and in his workshops uses Ireland’s rich storytelling tradition as a lens into the ancient past.

Tony is an avid archer with a particular interest in traditional archery. As part of his medieval workshops he gives children an opportunity to see and hold a variety of bows and to try the sport for themselves.

Tony holds a higher cert. in heritage studies from G.M.I.T., a B.A. from St. Patrick’s College Thurles and a Master’s Degree in the History of Christianity from St. Patrick’s College Maynooth.
