Tony's workshops celebrate the extraordinary rich natural and cultural heritage of the Burren region in Co Clare. During a visit, the children are facilitated in creating their own personal album of Burren facts - complete with colour photographs. Tony also likes to take the children on a field trip to the Burren National Park where they will take part in treasure hunts, nature trails and photographic assignments. The children end up with great knowledge and enthusiasm for the geology, flora, archaeology, fauna and farming of the region. Tony delivered the highly regarded heritage programme on behalf of the Burren Life Project from 2005 to 2009.

  • "A great day was had by all. It was very beneficial for the pupils as they would never get to go to the Burren otherwise."
  • "One thing we really liked about Tony was his interaction with the children. He took all questions and opinions on board and tried to answer them as he went along. He also got children involved in the presentation where every so often he got children to come up to the board and recall/re present what he just taught them in the previous few slides. He has a great way of building on the knowledge that the children already have. He has many great stories that link in with the topic which the children found fascinating. He also uses Gaeilge throughout his lesson. Overall an excellent first visit, looking forward to the next four." - Tubber National School, Co Clare (one of 10 winning schools in 2018 Creative Heritage competition).
