Robert is a Tour Guide with the Office of Public works in Tipperary and has taken part in historical re-enactments countrywide over the last 10 years with an emphasis on the Great War, The Easter Rising and The War of Independence. He looks at both local and national events, and also examines the equipment, uniforms, personal items and characters of the eras he covers and brings along items of interest to discuss what they were used for. His passion is history and his aim is to bring history to life allowing children and teachers to experience, first hand, what they read about in history books. He has completed a course in Creative Writing for Publication from NUI Kilkenny and has given writing workshops to children allowing them to express their imaginations by encouraging them with simple but effective tools that aid in the creation of characters and stories. He can also offer field trips to local heritage sites such as Cahir Castle, Dungarvan Castle and Ormond Castle.
