Martin brings live birds of prey directly into the classroom for the children to enjoy and leads a discussion about their habitats, life-cycles and environmental threats. The children are introduced to a Sparrow hawk, a Harris Hawk, a Peregrine Falcon (the fastest creature on earth) and the lovely Barn Owl. The children are even encouraged to hold the owl and have their picture taken with it! Visits also include flying displays, drawing workshops and a Question and Answer session. Martin is a licensed falconer and has been an ornithologist for over 40 years. He is a member of the Irish Raptor Study Group and Raptor Rescue.
"Martin was absolutely fantastic. He gave the children so much information and he engaged them throughout. He knew exactly how to get down to their level. Leo the long eared owl and Barney the barn owl were beautiful birds and it was brilliant for the children to have the opportunity to hold and touch them. I have to say it was extremely enjoyable and I'm sure the children will remember it for a long time."
"Wow, Martin never disappoints! We will definitely be booking him again in the future."
