Coming from a background in ecology and natural history, Catherine has conducted school visits and field trips for over fifteen years. Her areas of interest include zoology, Irish wildlife, industrial and agricultural history, Irish explorers, storytelling, garden projects, landscapes and the origin of place names.

All workshops are interactive, with a chance for all members in the class to participate. She offers both outdoor classes and class-based workshops, covering in depth the SESE stands of the curriculum. Her classes also cover strands of English, Art, Drama and SPHE.

Classes can be adapted for any level, including early years (Aistear), and can tie in with an ongoing class or school project(s). Workshops range from one hour to full days, so the expert’s visit for a half or full day can be ustilised by the school to the maximum.

With eight different visits to choose from, covering everything from nature and history to science, climate change and sustainable development, get in touch at the email address below for more details.

  • "Catherine had a fabulous rapport with the children. She pitched her presentations perfectly to the different class levels. She used a wide variety of materials and the children were engaged, had fun and learned from the experience."
  • "Catherine's 'History in 10 artefacts' workshop was fantastic!! The children loved the hands-on aspect of the session where they were free to examine a range of artefacts - Catherine cultivated exploratory investigation through question prompts and discussion. Catherine was so engaging and children had a great time!" - Powerstown Educate Together National School
