Alison has been teaching a broad range of environmental education and outdoor skills for the past fifteen years. A former environmental education co-ordinator and primary teacher she now works as an education officer with the National Parks and Wildlife Service; an award winning bushcraft school in the UK - having been trained by Ray Mears and as a professional forager under her business name, Nibbling on Nature. Alison regularly experiences full immersion in nature and spends many weeks at a time living and working outdoors; this affords her a great intimacy with the natural environment and a unique understanding of nature connection.
Alison has designed and led many different workshops including nature awareness, foraging walks, tracking, nature exploration, outdoor survival skills, bushcraft, environmental awareness and natural history discovery. All of the workshops are designed around the curriculum, flexible, fully practical and interactive with a focus on fun in learning. Her broad and detailed knowledge also enable her to deliver the green flag topics which can be tailored to meet the needs of the school.
The workshops can be held in the classroom, in the school grounds or further afield and can be delivered over a succession of days if preferred.
